Another year gone by, hello 2017!

I know, it's rather late to welcome 2017, isn't it? Where did January go and what happened to 2016? Our life has been a whirlwind with the usual (and unusual) ups and downs of a bumpy roller coaster ride. Again, another year gone by where I didn't dedicate any time to this blog:( I hope 2017 will be different in that regard!  Maybe I have to remind myself with little yellow notes sticking to my computer screen that I need to write a blog post at least once a week.  Let's see if that little trick works! On another note, here are some photos of some quilty goodness that I created last year. Its' a cuddly and super cute Woodland baby girl quilt made with the "Hello Bear" fabric line by Art Gallery.  I just love the colors, so soft and pretty!  You can find this cuddly softness in my little etsy shop:) More pics of other quilts I've made will follow.

Hello 2016!

It has been quite some time since I posted anything on my blog. Last year was such a roller coaster ride of family events that I completely neglected this little corner of the "interweb"! We had to say goodbye to way too many dear family members, welcomed our first grandson, many serious health issues, and experienced a major job loss. I sincerely hope that 2016 will be a better year than the last for everyone! Wishing you all good health, many blessings, & a happy and fulfilling New Year!

XOXO

Bluebird Park Lap Quilt

I love love this fabric line!! Of course, I had to make a quilt! It's a pretty nice size lap quilt, perfect for  the couch, kids room and so on. These are the cutest fabrics depicting  hedgehogs, squirrels, owls, bunnies, and the most adorable bicycles. The colors are just beautiful and are pretty much gender neutral. Here are some pics:)
Until next time:)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! Hope you have the most wonderful time with family and friends! Just wanted to share a few pics of a finished quilt that I just showed a preview of many weeks ago. Made with Moda's Hunky Dory fabric line, the colors are just perfect for Spring:) Love these fabrics!! Quilted with an allover flower motif which matches perfectly with all these pretty fabrics especially the backing:)

Another Spring Quilt in the works:)

A little preview of another "springy" quilt currently on my longarm machine. Yes, I do quilt late at night, that's why the pics are a little on the dark side:) More pics to come once the quilt is finished!

Oversized King Quilt.... Done:)

I'm so happy that I finished this hexagon quilt for a lovely customer of mine! I actually finished it back in January but didn't have the time and location picked out in order to take some photos. I'm not really good at taking decent pics so I let my hubby take over that job. I'm too busy sewing and quilting anyway:)
I used the beautiful fabrics from Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush line. I love love her fabrics and luckily my customer did as well. As the contrasting fabric I chose Kona cotton in Ash and it really made the colors pop. Also made matching quilted flanged pillow shams to go with this quilt:)
I might have to sew and quilt this one for myself one day! I still do not have my own handmade quilt as of yet, I guess I'm too busy making things for family, friends, charity, and customers of course:) Yep, one day I have my own little quilt!
Btw, this quilt measures a whooping 114" by 114", the biggest quilt I've made so far!

Spring is here.... sort of:)

Spring is here, at least in my sewing and quilting room:) Here are some quilts I finished just in time for the warmer season. The first quilt was made with Moda Nature's Chorus fabric line by April Cornell. The colors are just beautiful together; pretty greens, corals, and aqua blues. Love the aqua colored backing:) The quilting on this quilt is totally freehand, no pantograph was used.
For the second quilt I used Heather Bailey's "Nicey Jane" fabric line. I adore the colors and designs, they complement each other so well which truly shows in this quilt. Used an allover baptist fan quilting pattern for this one. Both quilts are currently in my etsy shop:)

Another Baby Quilt:)

Gheez...another month went by without a quilt post! I really need to get better about this:)
In the meantime, I finished a 112" by 112" hexagon king size quilt for a lovely customer of mine! This has been the biggest quilt I've ever made so far:) I promise I'll post pictures soon, I have to find the best photo prop for such a large quilt! It just has to look good, I don't think my cell phone will do for this one.
On another note, here's a cute baby quilt I've created with Les Amis fabrics by Michael Miller. These fabrics are just so adorable, pretty colors and the most whimsical forest creatures are displayed on the front of the quilt. For the backing I chose a matching print with sweet little turtles which makes this quilt totally reversible. This little ditty is currently for sale in my etsy shop:)

Happy belated New Year!

We are already 13 days into the new year and I'm still busy quilting and sewing up a storm. Lots of stuff happened since my last blog post, however,

I will forgo the bad news and focus on the positive :)
I am going to be a first time grandma this year!! So stoked and exited,  can't wait until this little bundle arrives in very early August!! Such great news! I guess I'll be busy quilting even more than before:)
Here are some pics of quilts that I finished last year that I didn't post as of yet and some I've finished already this year.

This is the finished quilt that I've posted a little teaser awhile back on this blog. I love these colors so much! Aqua and red are my faves:)

This was made for a customer locally. It's a rag quilt made with the cutest little snowmen and snowflakes fabric. It's so soft and oh so cozy, perfect for those cold winter months!

More raggy quilty goodness! Again, red and aqua fabrics are displayed here. Perfect to keep a little baby warm and snuggly:)

Last not least, another Kumari Garden quilt finished. This one went to a very special little family! It's always so much fun to make quilts for the little ones and their parents.
In addition to those quilts above, I made seven jeans quilts for a very sweet family and also quilted two very large quilts for an awesome customer in Las Vegas.
It was a very productive 2014 :)
